Community Programs Sydney

Cook + Phillip Park Pool offers supported community programs for children and adults who are underrepresented or living with a disability. Our qualified staff provide a safe and comfortable environment for our programs including Swim Champs and Take Charge.

Swim Champs

Swim Champs is a swimming and water safety program for children under the age of 18 with a disability. The Swim Champs program aims to build confidence and competencies in a safe environment which is delivered by qualified teachers at Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre.

Take Charge

Take Charge is a free 60-day program for people who have been referred to the program by a medical or allied health professional. Participants gain free access to the facilities, programs, services, and staff at Cook and Phillip Park, Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre, Victoria Park Pool and Prince Alfred Park Pool.

During the 60-days, participants are inducted to the facility, provided with one-on-one support in continued consultations, receive a personalised exercise program and are overseen and worked closely with staff, where adjustments can then be made and progress regularly reviewed.
