About Geoff Huegill

Geoff Huegill is one man who knows how to rise up when faced with adversity, whether it’s been in his personal or professional life.

However, it is the strength of his mindset and the application of certain skills that enables him to tackle these challenges – easily capturing the hearts of all that he meets.

He was once established as one of the world's greatest butterfly competitors to have ever graced this earth.

His career highlights include;

–  Dual Olympic Silver and Bronze Medalist

–  Five times World Champion

–  Eight times World Record Holder

–  Seven times Commonwealth Gold Medalist, and

–  Fourteen Australian National titles

After weighing in at over 138kg, Geoff’s story is that of a true Australian, fighting his way back to international, elite level swimming and becoming an inspiring role model in his “comeback” quest.

At the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games, eight years after he won his last Commonwealth title, Geoff bought home 2 gold and 1 silver medals. It also came six years after any Australian male swimmer last won an individual Olympic or Commonwealth Games gold medal.

Geoff swam the best race of his life in the 100m butterfly final. His time, 51.69sec, was easily the fastest he has ever swum and astonishingly placed him, at 31 years of age, second in world rankings behind the greatest swimmer of all time, American - Michael Phelps.

Geoff then went on to win silver and bronze at the World Championships in Shanghai in 2011.

Today, Geoff has also positioned himself within the ranks of the business and corporate world, and also humanitarian ambassadorships. Geoff currently works with various media partners and is also the founder of HBT Swim Academy, an academy focusing on mentoring the future champions of the swimming world.

His Current & Past Alliance Partners include: Commonwealth Bank, Swisse, Foxtel, Fitness First, Speedo, Telstra, News Limited, MBF, Thai Airways, Sleepmaker, Audi, Subaru, Channel 9, Channel 7, Network 10, PWC.

Ambassadorships: Black Dog Institute, Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, and Loyal Foundation & Variety.
