How to Fit a Workout into Your Lunch Break

How to Fit a Workout into Your Lunch Break

When you're juggling work, family and friends sometimes fitting exercise into that equation can seem impossible.

If you’re not a morning person, waking up before the sun has risen can make exercising feel like a chore. Similarly, if you've had a stressful day at work hitting the gym is the last thing you want. Here are five hacks to finally fit your workout into your lunch break.

Emphasize Intensity Over Longevity

Unfortunately, lunch breaks don’t last forever, that means that the key to success is time. Despite what you may think a short workout can be just as effective, as long as you amplify the intensity. This can mean, completing your repetitions more quickly or using greater resistance. We recommend that you focus on exercises that you already know well. Don’t try and learn new moves in a short space of time as this will only leave you frustrated.

Talk to a professional about the way you should go about doing this. At Cook and Phillip Park Pool we have specialised personal trainers who can create a personalised fitness program for you. Your personal fitness program will suit your current fitness levels and the goals that you would like to achieve. Find out more here

Concentrate on Whole Body Workouts

If you want to see results from these lunch workouts we recommend focussing on a whole-body workout rather than one muscle group at a time. This will enable you to get a whole-body workout in less time and you’ll leave the gym feeling productive.

Prepare your Lunch in Advance

We know this may sound obvious, but preparing your lunch the night before may just be the key to saving you the time needed for a workout. Prepare a healthy and easy to eat meal and if possible a post workout snack. This tip is also a great way of managing a healthy diet by ensuring that when the sugar cravings hit, you’re already prepared!

Plan In Advance

Knowing exactly what you’re going to do and where you’re going to go will save you time and help you in the long run. Schedule your workouts on the weekend for the week ahead.

Always pack your training kit the night before and pack your lunch.
